The position of the glass breaker allows the user to break the glass and cut the seat belt without having to change their grip thus allowing faster response time during the rescue. The ribbed handle design was developed through a collaborative between the engineers at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and Brown University, the non slip texture offers tire like traction and the best non slip performance available. 4-40 Allen screw assembly allows quick adjustment for controlling speed of the hook deployment. Cutting hook is 440C stainless steel - .115 thick and water jet cut then hardened to a Rockwell of 58-60 C. The hook grind features the Colonial Knife' Ranger Grind' with thin cutting edge for easy re-sharpening. Hook locks open or closed with a slide lock for back up redundancy. Push the button to deploy the auto hook then slide the slide lock forward into position to back up the lock mechanism. Molded with a lanyard hole that allows 550 parachute cord plus a pocket clip makes the 505 Auto Rescue Hook™ a versatile tool for those who require a compact cutting tool, perfect for law enforcement and first responders
